Check out the events happening in the month of November! Unless specified otherwise, these events are free and open to any current Lake Land College (LLC) student.
11/1 – Diá de los Muertos Celebration
Join the Student Activity Board (SAB) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) office for a Day of the Dead celebration. Stay for lunch from La Luna, honor your lost loved ones on a traditional ofrenda, and make some new friends! [11 am, Luther Student Center]
11/8 – Veteran’s Day Celebration
Attend the Laying of the Wreath Ceremony to honor our brave veterans in Podesta Park (across from the Luther Student Center (LSC)). After the ceremony, enjoy FREE subs, cookies, and activities in the LSC. [11 am, Veterans Wall, Podesta Park]
11/8 – TRiO First Generation Student Celebration
Celebrate our students who are the first in their families to choose to go to college! Play the Spin the Wheel Game, get some FREE candy, and learn more about TRiO programs and what they can offer. [11am – Luther Student Center]
11/9 – Red Cross Blood Drive — Sponsored by Student Government Association (SGA)
Stop by and donate blood that could potentially save a life and get a FREE sub! [11am – Foundation and Alumni Center]
11/15 – International Student Celebration
Join SAB and International Studies for a special celebration of our international students. There will be information about the diverse cultures and backgrounds on our campus, traditional snacks from around the world, and some fun prizes! [11am – 3pm, Luther Student Center]
11/16 – Campus Read Book Club Meeting
Join us for the Backstage Book Club to discuss this year’s campus read: Disability Visibility, edited by Alice Wong. Pick up your FREE copy from the Student Life office! Refreshments and conversation to ensue! [3pm – Backstage of LSC Theater]
11/16 – Student Life at Kluthe
Stop by between classes to chat with representatives from Student Life and get some FREE snacks! [11am – Kluthe Center Lobby]
11/20 – West Building Event: Snacks and Surprises!
SAB will be at the West Building handing out snacks and other surprises! [10am to 12pm – West Building, Glazebrook Wing]
11/29 – Student Resource Fair
Learn about the many valuable resources that are available at our college! This event will be a great opportunity to hear from various departments, such as Financial Aid, TRiO, Library Services, Counseling, and more! [11am – Luther Student Center]
