The main event of March for Lake Land College’s (LLC) Student Government Association (SGA) were the elections of incoming sophomore delegates and student trustees. SGA collected applications from existing freshmen members as well as potential new members for the 2022-2023 school year. The group also offered an incentive for voting: a free item from the food truck Vagabond Eatery that was arranged to visit campus on March 23. Sophomore delegates that were elected are Carly Buckley, Paul Dorman, Brittany Gammill, Morgan Greuel, Jordan Oliver, Marylee Orman, Tess Patton and Toby Winans. The Student Trustee is Maggie Kelly.

The group also talked about making changes to the SGA constitution after they were suggested by SGA Parliamentarian and chair of the judicial committee, Brady Clark. These changes include increasing the GPA requirement for members and officers of SGA, giving better descriptions of officer duties and changing the office hour requirement from 10 hours per week for the president of SGA to 10 hours per week amongst all SGA officers.

SGA has been preparing to host the annual club lunch for all active clubs on campus.

Currently, the Community service committee, chaired by SGA Secretary Douglas Wilson, is sponsoring the LLC food pantry. Displays containing information regarding the food pantry and what services are offered are posted on the bulletin boards in every campus building. There are also pre-packaged bags of food under the display for students to pick up as desired. The LLC food pantry is in the health services office, located within the Luther Student Center.
