Lake Land branches out to help students and their mental health

Jess Oakley, Reporter

In the month of May for Mental Health Awareness month, the goal is to bring awareness to the struggles of mental health issues ranging from anxiety, to personality disorders and to depression that’s debilitating. One option to help with mental health is talking to someone.

Lake Land has partnered with an online program called BetterMynd. Students will have six free credits to use in individual appointments with a therapist.

All you need to do is sign up with your Lake Land email. It’s very simple to use and a very positive experience for most people.

This May, the goal is to break the stigma around mental health issues. Challenge your thinking about anything on the mental health spectrum. Seek out information, read about it. Reach out and talk to friends and family. If we come together, we can make ourselves feel a little less lonely and hopefully help to make the world a better place.
