Lake Land College is set to welcome the 13 days of Swiftmas. Presented by the Swiftie Nation Club, the 13 days of Swiftmas will consist of 13 Swiftie-themed events hosted here on campus. The fun will run from Nov. 13 all the way up to Dec. 4.
Week one began on Wednesday, Nov. 13, with a Career Services collaboration. Students were encouraged to complete vision boards and headshots, just like Taylor Swift! The next two days were comprised of a zoom meeting and an all-day peace poles event.
A screening of the “Taylor Swift Reputation Stadium Tour” in the theater kicked off week two, followed by the “Look What You Made Me Do” Bake Sale in Laker Point, a Swiftie Brownie Bash in Webb 081, and a listening party of “The Tortured Poets Department” album. A sweet tea and popcorn event, also located in Laker Point, ended the week with a bang!
Due to Thanksgiving break, only two events were scheduled for week three of Swiftmas. The Swiftie Nation Club offered students the opportunity for a Taylor Swift coloring activity in the library, as well as canvas painting in Laker Point.
The fourth and final week of festivities found students enjoying a tutoring event and a screening of “Miss Americana” in the theater. To round out the fun and games, the Swiftie Nation Club will be hosting the long-awaited Eras party on Dec. Fourth!
When speaking with Nate Carlin, President and founder of the Swiftie Nation Club, he expressed his thoughts on the events to come. “I’m very excited for the Eras party on the fourth,” said Carlin. The Swiftie Nation president also conveyed his excitement for the listening party of “The Tortured Poets Department” stating, “I wasn’t able to get tickets to the Era’s tour, so this is my chance to [sing the songs] with people”
The Swiftie Nation Club has gone all out on making sure these 13 days of Swiftmas are fun for the students of Lake Land College, and it shows. Be sure to enjoy, and join the final event of the Swiftmas season, the Era’s party on Dec. Fourth!
