Rapper Snoop Dogg released a statement recently announcing that he is the newest member of the FaZe Clan. FaZe Clan is a group of eSports competitors and entertainers that has become increasingly popular since the rise of streaming. In light of this new partnership, a statement was released that Snoop Dogg would promote and participate in FaZe Clan with the name “FaZe Snoop.”

Snoop Dogg was added to the team following the development of his streaming career in the past few years. FaZe Clan chief strategy officer Kai Henry described Snoop’s move to FaZe Clan as a natural step in the team and streamer’s relationship. Henry stated, “As the original internet kid and first generation gamer, Snoop has always understood the cultural connection between music, lifestyle and gaming.”

When asked about his reasoning for joining the FaZe Clan, Snoop Dogg accredits his son Cordell for coming up with the idea: “The youth identifies with their brand and that’s something [he] knew, which is why he brought us together.”

Snoop Dogg has also been busy in the music industry, recently hinting at a collaboration with worldwide pop superstars BTS. In an interview, Snoop mentioned that he had “a group named BTS that’s waiting on [him] to do a song with them right now.” He has since confirmed that the track is going to happen, saying, “It’s official like a referee with a whistle.” Both of the artists’ fandoms have been excited about the news, trending the topic on Twitter for hours at a time.
