Lake Land College (LLC), you have made a big impact on my life. I’ve made so many friends and memories here that I would not give up for the world. When I first started I was a terrified new adult fresh out of the pandemic and didn’t have a clue what I was doing. LLC helped ease me back into the school world and gave me back a love for learning.

My Freshman year was amazing, full of new things, like the Navigator and TRIO, and the Spring Carnival and Student life. Along with new people and places. My Sophomore year was rough with deciding classes and Weather and Climate that I held a love-hate relationship with. I got to meet President Bullock and much of the Administration as well as made many new friends and memories. My mental health may have gone down the drain but I found people that helped balance that and get me through the semester. The first semester of my Sophomore year, I got tickets to see Taylor Swift and watched a lot of Marvel. During the second semester, I got loaded with 19 credit hours and more mental breakdowns than I have had in a while. But, I also found a therapist, new article ideas and got to go to a concert I’d dreamt of since summer of 2022. College was terrifying to me when I graduated high school in 2021 and now after fulfilling two out of four years of it, I can truly say it has made me grow and change in many ways and mostly for good. I’ve learned lessons, I’ve made mistakes, I’ve cried A LOT and I’ve smiled just the same. Thank you LLC and all the people that made this experience so special.

I will be graduating with my Associates in Psychology and going on to the U of I in Champaign-Urbana to get my bachelors in Psychology. Here’s to the UIUC class of 2025!
