Coming out on Sept. 23, “Don’t Worry Darling’ looks to be a new definition of a Psychological thriller with some romance thrown in. Harry Styles, a British singer-songwriter, is making his acting debut as Jack, and Florence Pugh – better known for her roles in Marvel as Yelena and Dani in Midsommar – plays Alice.

In this film, according to the Google synopsis, “Living in an experimental community, a housewife (Florence Pugh) starts to suspect that her husband’s (Harry Styles) company is hiding disturbing secrets.” When watching the trailer, many suspicious things are shown, such as random planes crashing and many people acting as deniers of a much larger conspiracy. Jack works for a company suspected of creating these suspicious and sometimes deadly situations, which causes problems between him and his wife, Alice.

The company is not named in the trailer but seems to be being led or was founded by Frank, played by Chris Pine, and Shelley, played by Gemma Chan. The experimental community tests the perfect society where the housewife is responsible for the house, cleaning, cooking and keeping the husband happy. All the while, the husband goes to work. As the trailer goes on, more suspicious things seem to happen like a mysterious plane, what appear to be earthquakes, women hurting themselves or being displeased with their husbands and something terrible happening to them and many more situations. Alice witnesses these situations and seems to be disturbed by them.

Olivia Wilde is directing this psychological thriller, and again it is set to release in theaters on Sept. 23. It is a much anticipated release with a big pile-up of prominent name actors, such as Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Olivia Wilde, Gemma Chan, Chris Pine and many more. “Don’t Worry Darling” will redefine psychological thriller with a little historical twist since it seems to be set in the 70s.
