Lake Land’s Student Government Association is working with the American Red Cross to organize a blood drive from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Webb Hall 081 on November 2, 2021. The event will be staffed by SGA members, but they are counting on students and staff for donations!

Blood donors are an incredibly important part of the healthcare system. Without them, blood transfusions and life-saving surgeries would be impossible to perform. All blood types are needed and each donation can save up to three lives. The national blood supply took a massive hit when the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible to host drives and limited the resources or donation centers. Now that drives are back, the Red Cross is hopeful that donations will be just as plentiful, if not more so.

On-campus blood drives have always been very successful, and this one is expected to be no different. Students are encouraged to donate to the blood drive if they are able to! “Blood drives are a staple go-to for an SGA event. This blood drive will be crucial, as the blood donated will go on to serve a great purpose!” said SGA Vice President Chase Temmen.
