Last year the Miami Grand Prix was home to Lando Norris’s first victory in the sport of Formula One (F1.) The weekend was a grand event with the sun shining and many celebrities and some wannabe celebrities walking around the paddock. While the Miami Grand Prix may be a controversial track design, it tends to be the Met Gala of Grand Prix’s for the United States.
This year fans are eager to see if Norris will win again and take back his championship lead from teammate Oscar Piastri. The two are currently only 10 points apart and many online commentators are pitting them against each other. While the pair have said they are rivals and want to beat each other, they remain good friends and civil. Zak Brown, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mclaren Racing has stated he is expecting a collision between the two drivers at some point during this season as they battle on track.
Before the race there is much excitement as Max Verstappen, four-time World Champion, will not be attending media day due to the birth of his first-born child. A large rumor online is that once the baby is born Verstappen will retire, as he has stated previously, he did not want children until his racing career was over. Although, with how competitive Verstappen has been in the past many disagree with that theory. Verstappen himself practically disproves the theory altogether because he said he would miss the birth of his child if it was during a race.
With many well-known faces expected to make an appearance at the Grand Prix and many teams hinting at specialty livery’s it is safe to say the weekend will be exciting no matter what.
