With the semester coming to an end, fall, and summer registration is beginning. Early access opens up for student workers on March 24. For everyone else, it begins March 26. This can be stressful for students; the sooner you register, the better. The process often begins with checking registration dates well in advance and ensuring all prerequisites, financial obligations, and academic holds are cleared to avoid any last-minute surprises.
To navigate this process successfully, students often prepare backup schedules with alternative class times, different professors, or even entirely different courses in case their first choices become unavailable. Some students may need to adjust their expectations, accepting early morning classes or evening sessions that they initially hoped to avoid.
As the fall semester approaches, there are several important dates and deadlines for students to keep in mind to ensure a smooth start to the academic year. Extended registration will take place on August 22 from 9 AM to 6 PM, giving students one final opportunity to adjust their schedules and finalize their course selections. For those preparing for their upcoming classes, the textbook list will be available starting August 13, allowing students to plan and gather the necessary materials. Special program participants can begin picking up their textbooks on August 19, while general textbook pickup will be available on August 20 and 21 from 8 AM to 5 PM, and on August 22 from 9 AM to 6 PM.
However, it’s important to note that on August 22, all offices will be closed from 8 AM to 9 AM, with full services resuming promptly at 9 AM. The start of Fall Mod 1 is set for August 25, marking the beginning of a new academic term.
For those who still need to register or make last-minute changes, late placement and registration will be available on August 25 and 26 from 8 AM to 6 PM. The campus bookstore will also have extended hours on these days to accommodate students, remaining open from 8 AM to 6 PM. A highlight of the start of the semester is Welcome Day on August 27, an event designed to help students settle in, meet new classmates, and get familiar with campus resources. Come one or come all, let’s register for fall!
