The Student Activity Board (SAB) at Lake Land College (LLC) brings campus life to the next level. Whether it is planning fun events, helping students feel at home, or creating opportunities for connection, the SAB team is filled with passionate students—and a few amazing staff members—who make it all happen. Let’s meet the friendly faces behind this year’s SAB!
Lisa Shumard-Shelton – Director of Student Life & SAB Advisor
Lisa has served Lake Land College for 18 years and proudly advises SAB. A graduate of Eastern Illinois University and Gonzaga University, she loves helping students feel like they belong and have fun on campus. Outside work, she enjoys time with her family, long walks, board games, traveling, crocheting, and listening to audiobooks.
Hayley Haskett – Administrative Assistant to Student Engagement
Hayley received her associate degree in Liberal Arts from Lake Land in 2023 and now supports the Student Life Office. What she loves most about SAB is getting to know student members and watching them grow. She’s especially passionate about the creative side of event planning—from designing flyers to decorating. Outside of work, Hayley enjoys concerts, camping, kayaking, and spending time with friends. She reminds everyone that all SAB events are free and open to current students, so don’t miss out.
Aisha Salami – Co-President of SAB & President of the International Club
Aisha is a Business major student who joined SAB to feel more connected as a new student. Her favorite part? Seeing the behind-the-scenes planning turn into successful events. Outside SAB, Aisha crochets, reads, watches horror movies and draws isometric art. Her advice to students: “Come to events! No one is judging. It’s all about having fun.”
Vincent-Jeanette Gentry – General Member
Vincent-Jeanette is a Computer Science major working toward a career in cybersecurity. Inspired by his mom, who was an SAB member in the ’90s, he joined to continue the legacy. He loves seeing students enjoy events and participate. In his free time, he collects vintage computer gear, plays guitar and cares for his cats. His message: “It’s fun working with the team. More people should consider joining!”
Allison Meese – SAB Member & GAST Intern
An Ag Transfer major and Student Life Intern, Allison joined SAB to get more involved on campus. She enjoys planning events and is active in SGA, the Ag Transfer Club, and Collegiate Farm Bureau. She also shows Boer goats! Her message: “There are new events every week—come and have fun!”
Mulowa Musonda – SAB Member & Student Life Intern
A Pre-Med major, Mulowa joined SAB to challenge herself and improve her public speaking. Through SAB, she’s built confidence, made friends, and enjoyed perks like free food and merch. Outside school, she loves hanging out with friends. Her advice? “Join SAB.”
Nate Carlin – SAB Member
Nate is a Physical Education major who joined SAB after hearing about it from Lisa in Student Life. He enjoys helping shape event decisions and building new connections. Outside of SAB, he loves watching TV, scrolling TikTok and listening to Taylor Swift. He says, “ The best part is building relationships across campus.”
Nicole Belles – SAB Member
Nicole is a student at Lake Land who joined SAB to get involved and meet new people. She enjoys seeing students bond through events. Outside of class, she spends time with friends, attends social events and watches movies. Her takeaway: “Every SAB moment helps build meaningful memories.”
Nothando Nhliziyo – SAB Member
A Psychology major, Nothando was drawn to SAB by the team’s energy and goals. She values the opportunities SAB offers and loves the supportive environment. Her interests include art, church and sports. Her message: “It’s not just a club—you’ll love it. It’s peak!”
Noella Kasera – SAB Member & Student Services Intern
Noella is a Criminal Justice major and a Student Services Intern at Lake Land. She joined SAB after her friends encouraged her, and it quickly became a space where she felt connected and involved. Her favorite part is meeting new people and helping out at events. Outside of SAB, she enjoys spending time with her son, hanging out with international friends, traveling, reading and watching movies. Her message: “Join! Everyone is so sweet and welcoming—you’ll make great connections, maybe even for life.”
Whether they’re planning Wednesday events, decorating spaces, or creating opportunities for students to connect, the SAB team works hard to make campus life fun and welcoming. If you see any of these friendly faces around, be sure to say hi—or better yet, ask how you can join!
