Connor Price, a talented Canadian American actor, rapper, singer-songwriter, and internet personality, came up with a brilliant idea: spinning a globe and collaborating with an underappreciated artist from whichever country his finger landed on. This creative concept led to the creation of an album featuring eight unique tracks. Seven of these songs are collaborations with individual artists from around the world, while the eighth track, “Globe Cypher,” brings all seven artists together for a powerful musical experience. The album, a celebration of global musical talent and diversity, was officially released on Jan. 27, 2023. He collaborated with: 

Killa from Zambia in “Violet” 

Bens from Netherlands in “Spinning” 

SIRI from India in “Chuck Taylor” 

Kazuo from Japan in “DIP” 

K.Keed from South Africa in “Blue Shell” 

Lucca DL from Brazil in “False Alarm” 

Zensery from Germany in “Drop” 

All these happened within a span of three months and these songs combined had over 93 million streams on Spotify alone within those months. This brought up the idea of having all seven of the artists into one song called “Globe Cypher.” The song with the most streams on every platform is “Violet” by Price and Killa. However, my favorite is “Spinning” with Bens, followed by “Violet.”  

Connor Price’s “Spin The Globe” album is a celebration of creativity, curiosity, and the power of music to bring people together. More than just a collection of songs, this project is a testament to Price’s adventurous spirit and his commitment to showcasing the rich diversity of global music. The album ended up getting a sequel which is called “Spin The Globe 2” from just how much people liked the first one.  

What’s truly remarkable is how Price managed to coordinate and connect with these artists, overcoming language barriers and time zones to create a seamless and cohesive album. His commitment to authenticity and his willingness to embrace the unknown make “Spin the Globe” a standout project in today’s music industry.
