The holiday season is upon us and with it comes the excitement of Christmas festivities. Across the globe, people are eagerly planning how to celebrate this magical time of year. With a little bit over a month long for Christmas break, what would the Lakers do over the break?
Payton Carter, Sophomore, said in an interview “I call my boyfriend fine-sh*t and would be spending time with him over Christmas. I already did Christmas shopping online and just plan to open presents on Christmas day and be especially thankful even though I might not like what is in some of the presents. I plan to eat too much and feel sick after I have made sure I enjoyed the food. And maybe work a few shift that I don’t want to work, but that means money so yeah.”
Brysen Bond, Shooting Guard for Lake Land College’s basketball team plans to spend time with his family and train for basketball in preparation for the second part of the basketball season.
Aiden Swinson, point guard for Lake Land College’s basketball team looks forward to having Christmas dinner with family and going to see the Rockefeller center Christmas tree in New York. He wants to be surprised with the content of his Christmas presents and his favorite thing about Christmas is the nostalgia.
Kyra Hazelton and Peyton Whitacre, president of the environmental club and their significant other plan to celebrate Christmas with Hazelton’s parents and then go to Whitacre’s parents.
Ethan Grant, a freshman, is going to be spending Christmas with his grandparents and parents because there is a month long of holiday. “I would probably visit one of my friends that is moving to Colorado at the end of December. I would be working out and going Christmas shopping for my 4 siblings,” says Grant.
Brynn Hunter, a sophomore, plans to work and spend time with her significant other and eat some Christmas food. Seeing her family on Christmas for a Christmas dinner is also on her plans.
Faye Brill, an international student from the Netherlands and an outfield for Lake Land College’s softball team. She would be going back to the Netherlands to celebrate Christmas with her family and friends. “I would be having fun catching up with old friends and family, and maybe go to France for a little bit.”
