When people think of the most essential things needed for college, typically what comes to mind is items related to the dorm room. An often-neglected thought is what is needed while in the classroom. While some only need a pencil and notebook, others would prefer to carry anything and everything that might come in handy. The following items listed can be things found in Lake Land College’s bookstore, whether big or small. They are also all subjective, therefore will not be for everyone.
If you are like me, you tend to forget to charge your electronics often. This can be bad, especially if you are stuck on campus all day! Even if you are not at college, it is always a good idea to bring a charger for all electronics you take to places. Plus, if your friend needs a charger, you will be seen as their savior! Also related to chargers, I would highly recommend bringing earbuds or items to help with noise cancellation. Many places throughout the campus can be quite busy and oftentimes loud, so it would be helpful to bring to relax or if you just want to listen to music. Many people struggle to study when other people are around, so having earbuds is helpful.
The second biggest contender for essentials is snacks! Of course, vending machines do exist, but they do not always have great options. Plus, you cannot simply walk out of your classroom and walk all the way to a vending machine, it is just too time consuming. Keeping a couple types of snacks on you is also a good option, especially if you are picky. While Subway is an available option, one may not be looking for a full meal. While many students tend to bring their own drink to campus, I would also recommend bringing water with you. It is just a good backup in case you get dehydrated.
If you are a person that prefers not to ask your instructors to borrow their items, I would recommend bringing extra office supplies. These could be a stapler, extra pens and pencils, paper clips, paper, and tape. These items can become very handy, especially at times you would least expect it. Plus, your classroom may not have the office supply, and there is only one available in that whole building.
Obviously, everyone is different, however many of these items will come in handy when you least expect it. Having a backup available in the reach of your backpack is always a safe plan, no matter who you are. Plus, your friends will remember, and you will be able to help if they run into some trouble. Perhaps both you and your friends will have followed this advice and will be the most prepared people on campus.
