The latest installment in the MonsterVerse franchise, “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire,” has sparked a diverse range of reactions. While some have been captivated by its unique blend of action and fantasy, others have been less enthralled. The general consensus, however, is that if you’re a fan of immersive films like “Avatar” and “Jurassic Park,” this movie is likely to be right up your alley.
The film is jam-packed with action that is as big and bold as the creatures featured in it. The CGI does a fantastic job of adding lifelike movement while also adding just enough of a cartoon feel. We see so much detail in every aspect of the characters, from the teeth to the fur, going in all different directions.
As a personal fan of Godzilla, it was super exciting to see him take on a new form and team up with Kong for an epic battle. Again, the CGI was incredible, and all the new details added to the King of the Monsters were insane. We even get to see the big guy smile after they defeat the bad guys.
Fans were also excited to see the return of Mothra, a moth-like monster brought back by Jia, the last remaining native of Skull Island. Many reviewers also pointed out that the addition of a “baby Kong” is an adorable and heartwarming touch.
Even though many loved the movie, some hated it. One reviewer said, “The only reason the humans were there was to move the plot forward, even though the plot made no sense.” They even went on to call the addition of Mothra “stupid” and “This isn’t How to Train Your Dragon.”
Overall, this is one of those movies where if you love it, you love it, and if you hate it, oh boy, do you hate it. However, as one reviewer stated nicely, “I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation of what the future holds.”
