Even though spring break shortened the month of March, the Student Government Association (SGA) has been busy. The SGA has been diligently working on planning the Student Recognition Banquet, the Club Lunch, their contributions to the Spring Carnival, and the SGA Sophomore Delegate election.
The Sophomore Delegate election has passed by the time of this publication, but the effort SGA put into it should not go unnoticed. Many promotional advertisements could be seen throughout campus, and announcements and emails being sent out. We even saw a few candidate campaign flyers. To encourage voting, the Student Activity Board (SAB) and SGA provided free goodies and prizes to those who voted. We welcome Addison Bartlow, Kaylee Blackford, Nathaniel Carlin, Aubrey Hebenstreit, Alex Kaufmann, Tanatswa Mutamira, Anyssa Petak, and Brody Will as your new Sophomore Delegates.
SGA has also been busy planning away for the Student Recognition Banquet, on April 24. The banquet will be held in the Field House this year and catered by La Luna. SGA is hosting the event to honor students with a 4.0 GPA, members of SAB, the Navigator News, Student Ambassadors, and SGA. The event will be held at 6 pm.
Another way SGA is celebrating its peers is by holding a Club Lunch on April 3rd at 11 a.m. This lunch celebrates all the clubs Lake Land College has to offer. Lunch will be provided, and the winners of the club food drive will be announced.
The Spring Carnival on May 1 requires lots of planning and organizing. SAB will be hosting the event, but SGA will have fun games to play and run the dunk tank! Faculty and staff members will be in the tank.
On April 18, the American Red Cross will return to Lake Land College. Right now, there is a national blood shortage. The SGA encourages everyone who can and is willing to come to donate blood and enjoy some free snacks and drinks.
