Are you an artist that attends or works for Lake Land College? Well you’re in luck because the 2024 Spring Art Show is just around the corner! This art show allows Lake Land students and staff members to submit original works of art for the chance to win some neat prizes.
The theme for this year’s art show is “Belonging”, and every artist entering pieces for this show will be able to interpret this theme however they choose. Submissions start March 1 and end April 12 in the Student Life Office. Make sure to get your pieces in on time to be eligible for the show. The show will be held on April 24. Every artist may come to the show to show off their pieces.
Multiple mediums are encouraged to be brought to the show. These mediums include both traditional and non-traditional. Traditional mediums include sketches, sculptures, photography, etc. Non-traditional media forms include music, poetry, short stories, welding, etc. If there is an issue for not having art supplies or needing extra art supplies, please email [email protected].
After the initial art show has concluded, there will be an art exhibition on April 24, at the Foundation and Alumni Center. Artists that have participated in the show should be encouraged to attend the exhibition. Food and drinks will be provided, so be sure to attend. Art pieces should be picked up during the Spring Carnival on May 1. If any artwork is left behind on May 1, it will become property of the college. When you go to submit your pieces, make sure you fill out and complete a submission form to be able to enter. Submit both your pieces and submission forms to the Student Life Office. Best of luck to all who are entering the show!
