Fans of “Skyrim” and “Fallout” have a whole new adventure in Bethesda’s latest release in over a decade, Starfield. Starfield has been a highly anticipated game, especially since the other series Bethesda Game Studios have developed were a major hit amongst gamers.
“Starfield is the first new universe in over 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. In this next-generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery,” states the game’s official site.
This roleplaying game (RPG) takes place in the future. You join the last group of space explorers called Constellation, who embark on a journey to discover the galaxy with over 1000 planets containing fascinating landscapes, bustling cities, and treacherous bases. The video game provides many gameplay aspects like crafting, attacking enemies, exploring landscapes, and piloting your ship through deep space.
The RPG has four accessibility features (color options, adjustable input sensitivity, input remapping, no quick time events) and supports nine languages (English, Dutch, French) in audio, subtitles, and overall interface. It also features a character customization feature with numerous options, including sex, pronouns, and walk animations. Bethesda encourages individuality in the story, letting you choose your character’s background, appearance, and traits. Because of this inclusivity and number of options, the outcomes stories will have are limitless.
Of course, every game will have its imperfections or nitpicks. A notable glitch that some notice is the occasional misgendering of your captain. Players have caught this as unintentional and a bug that Bethesda overlooked. Other than that, not many defects have been prominent to players, unlike Cyberpunk 2077’s release in December 2020.
However, based on feedback and reviews, people’s opinions differ from their personal experiences and preferences. Many players have praised Starfield for its gameplay experience, gameplay elements, and overall graphics.
