Navigate is a newly introduced app to support your success here on Lake Land College’s (LLC) campus. You can utilize the Navigate desktop application or mobile app to connect with resources, schedule advising and other service appointments, create an academic plan to graduate, register for courses and view your course schedule, identify important dates and deadlines and more.

According to Emily Hartke, who is currently an academic counselor explained that “The Navigate App came into being when the college was searching for a product that could strengthen our retention initiatives on campus that would allow us to provide additional support for students. The college decided to purchase the Navigate app, which has a desktop application and also a mobile app.”

Hartke mentioned that “The Navigate App originated from a vendor, EAB, which serves higher education institutions, so it is a standard app. The decision to purchase the app was made by the Guided Pathways Initiative. Pam Hartke (no relation) is in charge of the Guided Pathways Initiative regarding enrollment. Pam is responsible as we are transitioning to enrollment. It is a joint academic effort between student services and academic services.”

She went on to state that “Navigate is a new tool for student support and retention. Students will also do their academic planning and registration through it. I want students to know that we have resources available on the website where they can learn more and receive training resources for academic planning and registration and find the QR code to download the app.” To visit the website, go to www.lakelandcollege.edu/navigate.

Hartke used to hold the role as the chair of counseling and judicial affairs advisory. However, she stated that she “decided to step aside to implement the Navigate App.” Heather Nohren has since filled Hartke’s former position. Prior to being an academic counselor, Hartke was Counselor Coordinator for Student Accommodations and has worked on LLC’s campus for the past 28 years.
