Marylee Orman is the Student Government Association’s (SGA) Public Information Officer (PIO) for the 2022-2023 term of office. Marylee is studying at Lake Land College to become a physical therapist’s assistant. She loves to help out with her local youth group and has lately been occupied with class work and clinicals. Her family also has a farm so a lot of her free time is spent there. Marylee lives in Gays, Illinois and attends many of her clinicals and classes at the Kluthe center in Effingham, Illinois. 

Orman’s main duties as PIO includes creating social media for SGA and working with Lisa Shumard-Shelton to get information about people on administration out to others. She stated that she spends a lot of time “creating highlight posts about the people involved in SGA. “

Orman has “always tried to help out in anything” she has been involved in. SGA is no exception. She stated that since she is so busy with clinicals she “knew that a position like the President wouldn’t work out. PIO ended up working because of my limited time and schedule.” Orman wants to try to create highlight posts that include information about senior officers. This will help freshmen know who once they join. She mentioned that, “I was very unaware who the senior officers were when I joined.”

Seeing more involvement and getting out of “the COVID hump” is what Orman wants to see and continue to see for the future of SGA.
