It’s cheating season, and apparently, everyone knows
November 1, 2022
In the past month, many people in the eyes of the media have been exposed and called out for cheating on their long-term partners. Chating on a spouse is nothing new; people have been doing it since the dawn of time. But, as celebrities are exposed for cheating, fans are becoming amateur detectives.
With social media having such a significant presence in today’s world, there is nowhere to hide when doing something you’re not supposed to. Recently, two men have been caught in a whirlwind social media frenzy over their newly called-out affairs. The first is well-known musical artist Adam Levine of Maroon 5, and the other is YouTube sensation Ned Fulmer of the Try Guys.
Starting with the more well-known celeb, Adam Levine. Levine is married to retired supermodel Behati Prinsloo, best known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, in 2014. However, in late September/early October, a young woman by the name of Sumner Stroh exposed Levine in a video she posted on the well-known social platform Tik Tok. The video said that she had been involved with Levine. She says, “I was young, I was naive and quite frankly, I feel exploited.” She also said that she didn’t know what to do, but since he was famous, she thought it could be good for her.
Stroh shared to her Tik Tok account screenshots of Direct Messages (DMs) with Levine through another sizeable social platform, Instagram. The messages between the two soon became a laughing matter as Levine’s writing style could be seen as a middle schooler messaging his first-ever girlfriend. After about a year, Stroh stopped talking to Levine. A few months after she ended things, Levine messaged Stroh regarding the baby he is about to have with his wife. “Ok serious question. I’m having another baby and if it’s a boy, I really wanna name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious.” Levine wrote to Stroh.
Levine has since come out and said he had made a mistake and won’t happen again. He also states that he loves his wife and children and that this was never meant to happen. People are split 50/50 on whether or not they are on Stroh’s side. Although Levine is a man with influence in Hollywood, people are saying she should have immediately shut it down since she knew Levine had a wife and kids. However, Levine was the one that was married, and his actions are unforgettable.
In other scarlet letter news, YouTube personality Ned Fulmer, now previously of the internet group the Try Guys, has been exposed for cheating on long-time love Ariel Fulmer. The pair have been married since 2012 and have two children together.
At the beginning of October, rumors started circulating on a popular Reddit webpage about Fulmer possibly having an affair with Alexandrea Fleming. Fleming, who works for the Try Guys company, is named as the other adulterer as she is engaged to her long-term boyfriend of 11 years. News started catching fire after the pair were photographed attending a Harry Styles concert together. After a weekend of mass hysteria on Tik Tok, the Try Guys released a statement on their social platforms saying Fulmer was no longer working with the company. Fulmer also released a statement saying he was in a “consensual workplace relationship” and was sorry to his wife and children. Many fans are upset and blown away at this news, as Fulmer has always been one to openly express his love for his wife and children, stating so in almost every video.
Fans have also picked up on the use of language in Fulmer’s statement. As part owner of the Try Guys brand, Fulmer had to use language that would not have a chance of possible use of a lawsuit from Fleming. The case could say that he used his power against her and some such things.
Now, as the Try Guys have just released a video statement and new podcast episode speaking about the topic, this is what we know.
The main guys of the group Eugene Lee-Yang, Kieth Habersberger, and Zach Kornfeld, released a short video statement saying that videos in the future will be different and that they don’t condone what happened under their noses. This group has been making content together for eight years, and a betrayal like this cuts deep. On their podcast, The Try Pod, Habersberger and Korfeld went into depth, talking about all the legalities behind what was happening. The team found out about the cheating on Labor Day from people on social media doing detective work; fans showed that these actions had been going on for at least a year.
Many people on the internet are equally intrigued by both accounts for different reasons. Many hope their favorite celebrities and internet personalities will stay happy and loyal, as no one is to be trusted these days.
