Dust off your mask before coming back to campus. As of Aug. 4, Lake Land College has reinstated its mask restriction. Masks are required to be worn by all personnel, vaccinated or not, on campus at all times unless eating, or alone in a closed off room.
Over the summer, the rule on masks became much more relaxed, partially due to the significantly lower number of people on campus. Masks no longer needed to be worn by those who had received a COVID-19 vaccine.
However that all changed around the beginning of August when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reinstituted the mask mandate. In order to keep both the students and the staff at Lake Land safe and healthy, the board decided to follow suit and bring masks back to campus.
As mentioned before, there are a few ways to escape the confines of mask life. You can remove your mask if you are alone in an enclosed room. That means closed off walls, and a closed door as well. This will keep others out of risk. There are also marked off areas for eating where people are allowed to take off their masks to enjoy their meals.
A list of the rules and procedures Lake Land has put into place due to the COVID-19 virus can be found on Lake Land’s website under the tab “COVID-19 CAMPUS UPDATE”. This will not only provide some insight of the restrictions in place but also discuss exposure to the virus, self-screening, and the vaccine.
