In October, the Student Activity Board is bringing three more events to everyone. The first is “Distant Deceptions” by mentalist and illusionist Wayne Hoffman. From his website, waynehoffman.com, it states that “Distant Deceptions” is an online interactive mind-reading and illusion show which involves the audience through every twist and turn. “It’s a fun and upbeat show that is mysterious and hilarious at the same time.” It is at 7 p.m. on Oct. 7. Stay tuned to social media and your Laker mail to get the Zoom link to join the show.

On Oct. 14, the Advising Information Event will be held through Zoom. The login details will be shared to the Lake Land College FB page and the Laker Point Online Canvas course.  Staff members from Counseling Services will be available on Zoom to share information about Spring 2021 academic advisement and registration. The event will go from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The Student Activity Board is planning to do at least one giveaway and there could be other surprises for participants.

Oct. 21 brings Alieeah Colgan, country music singer and songwriter. Alieeah was born in Missouri, raised in Florida and currently living “in the cornfields of the midwest.” She says her songwriting expresses feelings of love, life and the loss she has experienced along the way. The concert will be held via Zoom, and the link will be posted on social media and sent to your Laker emails.
