Everyone looks forward to summer vacation. For those in college, summer can be a time to get ahead in classes, work, intern and most of all have a little fun while on break. Sometimes it can be hard to come up with summer vacation ideas due to the cost and time it takes to plan a trip, especially on a college student’s budget. Here are a few ideas to ensure that you won’t have to miss out on the memories and experiences that come along with summer break, and be able to save some cash while you’re at it! Going to concerts or to festivals is one way to have fun over summer and not spend a ton of money. Pick a location that is near to home to avoid spending money on hotel rooms. Or if it has to be an overnight trip, bringing friends is an easy way to reduce the cost-per-person of a hotel room. Another cost-friendly idea could be road tripping to the beach. Cheap and relaxing, there’s nothing like sitting by a body of water soaking up the sun on a hot summer day. If you are looking to stay in school over summer, but tired of the classroom, ask your adviser about studying abroad. Studying abroad is one great way to further your education and experience beautiful cultures of different countries at the same time. Lastly visiting friends that may have moved away, or that you haven’t seen in a while is another idea easy and cost friendly trip you could plan while on break. There are so many ways to spend your summer vacation. As long as you’re having fun, you’re doing it right!
