Lake Land College was recently named one of the top online community colleges in Illinois by SR Education Group, an education research publisher. SR Education Group researched and ranked all schools that are regionally accredited and offer at least one fully online associate degree. Rankings were compiled for states with three or more eligible schools. Lake Land College was ranked #12 of the 19 schools ranked in the state of Illinois.

To be on the list, Lake Land College was ranked by the SR Education Group based on a score that incorporated retention rate, graduation rate, percentage of online enrollment data gathered by the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and the number of online associate degrees offered. The college’s completion rate is 68-69% compared to 56% statewide, which shows just how much more successful the online program is.

Lake Land College has been dedicated to online excellence and has been providing online courses since the late 90s. At Lake Land College, students can choose from 12 online certificate programs offered completely online, four degree programs that are offered completely online and 13 online-flex associate degree programs that offer several classes online. Overall, Lake Land offers about 200 online courses. LLC ensures that courses are up to code for a smooth online experience that is as identical as possible to an on-campus class. The college has an innovation camp dealing with the online environment and use of open educational resources and related subjects to better the use and navigation of the online resources available.

Lake Land’s online majors and courses are accredited through the Higher Learning Commission and are recognized throughout the state for quality.
