The Transfer Resource Room, located in the Northwest Building in room 027 is a central location for any student who wants to explore their options when transferring to a four-year institution. The Transfer Resource Room houses many resources such as admission packets, transfer brochures and program information brochures.

The room is also home to the EIU Service Center at Lake Land College. On days when the EIU Service Center is open on campus, students have the opportunity to meet with EIU Transfer Advisors in a private office in the Resource Room. It is here that students are able to discuss their plans to transfer to Eastern Illinois University.

Lake Land College is also a proud participant in the Illinois Articulation Initiative. This initiative was designed to help Illinois college students have a seamless transfer process from their community colleges to four-year universities. The IAI has also helped develop a general core curriculum which is transferable among more than 100 participating colleges and universities. This initiative also allows students to see how courses with different course numbers and signifiers relate to that of those used at their own institution. Lake Land provides general sample plans for a variety of transfer ready majors in the college catalog as well as online. Students can contact their academic advisor or a counselor to learn more about this service.

Lake Land College also has many transfer articulation agreements with area institutions to facilitate seamless transfer once a student has completed the Associate in Applied Science, Association in Arts, Associate in Science or Associate in Liberal Studies.

Many representatives from four-year colleges and universities frequently visit campus and are available in the lobby of the Luther Student Center.

Students can learn more about any of the services offered by the college by visiting the Transfer Resource Room or contacting Counseling Services at 217-234-5232.
