Serve the community: Volunteering with LLC
March 1, 2019
Volunteering is a great way for students to get involved in their communities. Lake Land offers students the opportunity to earn non-transferrable credit through their Serve Your Community Volunteer Program. For every 7.5 hours of volunteer service that students log and turn in a half credit will be applied to their transcript under Special Topics. Students can earn up to 2.5 credits. Volunteer opportunities include PADS Homeless Shelter, HOPE of East Central Illinois, Douglas Hart Nature Center, the American Red Cross, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Students who wish to participate can find other volunteer opportunities as well.
Those interested can find more information at lakelandcollege.edu/student-life/volunteer or by visiting the Student Life office, located next to Subway in the Luther Student Center.
