Student Activity Board has done a fantastic job this fall at bringing Lake Land College students a variety of fun and entertaining activities every Wednesday. On November 7th, SAB didn’t disappoint, introducing stand-up comedian, Samuel Comroe from Los Angeles. Samuel was a finalist on America’s Got Talent this past year and has performed in hundreds of clubs and colleges over the years. Along with being a Finalist on AGT, the biography on Samuel’s web site mentions that ”He made his TV debut on TBS’ Conan, BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood with Kevin Hart and he’s a contestant on the current season of “America’s Got Talent” In addition to his TV appearances Sam was recently featured on All Def Digital Comedy Originals. He is also the winner of Ricky Gervais’ Comedy Competition, The San Francisco Comedy Competition. His stand-up comedy is brought from all of his life experiences. At age six Samuel was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome. Instead of letting his illness get in the way, he uses it and brings it into a joking matter through his work. While at LLC Samuel brought his adult show to stage but added jokes that were generated towards Mattoon and our college. Samuel is out on tour with his stand up show “I got 99 problems… But a twitch ain’t one.” If you happened to miss the midday comedy show he brought to Lake Land’s campus, tickets are available on his website. Samuel also has a full-length comedy special, “Normal Behavior” that is out now. His shows are directed towards an older audience. Most shows are 18+ but there are a few shows that are strictly for age 21 and older. Videos and clips of his stand-up acts can be found on Samuel’s website and on Youtube.
