Basketball Players Preview

Will Starwalt, Reporter

When sitting down with Tra Landers and Allante Harper I was able to ask them some questions about the upcoming basketball season. First we talked about the state of the team and how the team was working in the offseason, Tra and Allante were talking about the different workouts the coaches are having them do as well as their practice schedule this summer and early in the school year. He has them practicing every day, lifting tires, doing hill runs and sometimes even practicing two or three times a day.

Tra and Allante both said they hope to improve their game as well as improve as people on and off the court. They also talked about their roles as leaders on the team now that they are sophomores and they stated that they want to be very vocal so that the younger guys have someone to look up too. They also discussed how they believe that the team has things they need to work on but they feel that it is too early to rush to any decisions on that front. Everything will change by the first game of the season. But with the season in mind they also discussed their goals for the team and as of right now, that would be for the team to just constantly improve during the season.  They stated that they are excited for the season ahead and that all this planning and practicing is just making them more anxious for what is to come. You can catch them in action on November 7th in the boys home opener against Lindenwood University JV at 6:00pm.
