Intramural sports: fun for everyone

Madolyn Hackler, Business Manager

It is that time of year again, Lake Land College’s intramural sports are back for the year! One thing that new students may not know about LLC is that they offer a wide range of intramural sports. An intramural sport is a type of club for anyone who is interested in athletics or wants to try something new. Intramural sports are recreational sports organized within a particular institution, usually an educational institution, or in a set geographic area. The programs include: men’s and women’s basketball, golf, softball, and starting in the spring, bowling and CO-ED volleyball. Students can sign up as teams or individually and be put on a team. Games are held on Wednesdays from 11-1 in the Field House, unless another form of playing field is needed and all games are officiated by certified adult officials. Getting involved with intramural sports is a great way to meet new people, stay active and it is free to all students. Information and events can also be found on the bulletin boards in the Field House and are also on the Lake Land website under Intramural sports, in student life.  Information packets can also be picked up in the Fitness Center or Field House. Sign Up sheets are located in the field house and forms are to be turned into Bob Orr, Intramural Director or the Fitness Center Desk.
