Underway at its earliest in history, Major League Baseball lovers, including Will and Ethan, happily welcomed Opening Day on the 29th of March.

With a brand new season ahead, Will is projecting the St. Louis Cardinals to regain full momentum, without any major struggles or defeats. Since failing to win a World Series title after their magical championship during the 2011 season, the Birds on the Bat have seemingly fallen out of place, now losing to division foe, the Chicago Cubs.

During the 2017-2018 offseason, the Cardinals acquired left fielder and 2-time all-star, Marcell Ozuna in a trade with the Miami Marlins.

Unfortunately, apart from the Ozuna deal, the Cardinals were relativity lackluster in the winter, only signing a relief pitcher or two, to boost stability in the bullpen.

However, Will is absolutely confident in the five-man starting rotation, which includes familiar faces, Carlos Martinez, Michael Wacha, and ace, Adam Wainwright. After a disappointing 2017, Wainwright is looking to have a comeback year, a year such as 2014, when the veteran won 20 games and possessed an ERA of 2.38.

The young talent on the Cardinal squad is starting to make an impression in the big leagues.

Paul DeJong (24), shortstop and runner up for 2017 N.L. Rookie of the Year crushed 25 home runs last year, while maintaining a 285. batting average in 108 games.

Perhaps the most impressive pitcher out of St. Louis from 2017, Luke Weaver, (24), ended 2017 with a 7-2 record, a 3.88 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP and 72 strikeouts across 60 1/3 innings.

In 272 plate appearances, first baseman and occasional outfielder, Jose Martinez belted 14 home runs, preserving a 309. batting average, and stealing four total bases.

Ethan’s team to win it all in 2018 are the Houston Astros. The winners of 2017 fall classic or World Series, they’re dominating the game with big time veterans, award winning rookies, and clutch performances everyday.

As far as Ethan is concerned, the Astros have the best starting rotation in all of baseball. Justin Verlander, Dallas Keuchel, Lance McCullers Jr., and Gerrit Cole earned a combined 48 wins in 2017, along with 672 strikeouts in total.  — Surely, one of those starters has a high probability to become 2018 A.L. Cy Young Award Winner.

Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve are turning double plays, and continue to thrill thousands with their on the field relationship.  — They can rake too. Correa and Altuve hit 4 home runs altogether, and had 11 RBI”s.

Another Astro worth mentioning is outfielder, George Springer.

In 2017, Springer finished 9th overall in OPS for American League players, having an On-Base Plus Slugging of 889. Hitting a career high of 34 home runs in 2017, Springer proved his excellence even further, by being named the 2017 World Series M.V.P.
