If I’m guilty about anything in my life, it’s my seeming inability to save money. Why can’t I save money, you ask? Well, it’s because I have a problem. A concert problem.

I compulsively buy tickets and travel excessive distances to see live music, and yeah, it’s pretty much worth it. But, it also stops me cold when I look at my budget and remember that I spend almost $300 on gas every month, and when I see the huge dips in my funds when I buy tickets. I argue that I must continue, because I deserve and even need those breaks from real life to stay sane. However, I must admit that there are probably other alternatives to maintain my sanity, and I could probably moderate my concert attendance a little.

Still, it appears that nothing will stop me, as I’ve already gone to three shows in Indianapolis and Chicago this month and budgeted for seven, ranging from Wisconsin to Ohio to St. Louis, before July is over. Sometimes I hate myself for taking on such an expensive hobby. Other times I love myself, because I wouldn’t trade the experiences I’ve had for all the money in the world.
