Princess Diana of Wales was killed in late August of 1997 in a car accident in Paris. It is widely accepted that the driver had been drunk at the time of the accident. However, many do not believe that the trail ends with a drunken driver, but rather believe something much more sinister was in play.

The most popular theory is that she was pregnant with a child, the father being Dodi Fayed who was also killed in the accident, something that the state might have feared. Fayed’s father even testified as much. However, after both blood tests and an autopsy, there was no evidence of a pregnancy.

Theorists will also cite that nearly a year before her death she wrote to her former butler, Paul Burrell, saying that she feared someone was planning some kind of accident meant for her. While it’s certain that she was worried, there is still the question of whether or not someone really was planning something for her.

Finally, many theorists believe that the medical care was deliberately delayed and that doctors may have let her die or prevented her recovery. Rather than taking her to the hospital, they tried to treat her on site. However, doctors believe that it wouldn’t have mattered if she had made it to the hospital or not; her injuries were too severe.

Nevertheless, in the end the accident was ruled just that, an accident. If there are any more layers of truth to it than that, they remain unconfirmed in a tragic mystery.
