Freshman Student Government Association officer elections will be held on Sept. 13-14. Any freshman (less than 30 credit hours) may apply for these positions, and all Lake Land College students can vote through their LakerHub accounts.
Student Government Association is a student-led advocacy group with the goal of bettering the campus. SGA members represent the student body of Lake Land to the public and to the school board.
These students are in the unique position to find real solutions to real problems faced by the college. Brock Hammond, SGA president, particularly likes this about his role.
“My favorite thing about SGA is studying the issues that students face and finding solutions for them,” Hammond said.
Hammond feels that the most valuable thing he’s learned from his time on SGA is “persistence and fighting for what is right.”
To apply, pick up an application from the Student Life Office (next to Subway) or email Student Life’s Administrative Assistant Marlene Meek at [email protected] Applications are due by Sept. 6 at 4 p.m. to the Student Life Office or online.
