When the name Marilyn Monroe is mentioned, a beautiful blonde comes to mind. Sadly, she’s also known for her suicide and the unusual circumstances in which surrounded it.
Her psychiatrist, Dr. Ralph Greenson, found the actress dead in her home on Aug. 5, 1962, in the early morning hours, around 3 a.m. Her physician showed up about 3:50 a.m. and declared her dead. However, an ambulance wasn’t called until about 4:25 a.m.
The toxicology report stated that drugs were found in her system and she died of an overdose. Her physiatrist claimed that she was prone to depression, so her death was ruled a suicide.
One fact that fueled speculation was that she had overdosed by swallowing pills, but there was no liquid in her room at all with which she could’ve swallowed the massive amounts of drugs found in her system. Slowly, but surely, mystery began to surround her untimely death.
Along with a delayed call for an ambulance, reports claimed that Greenson turned away the first ambulance. A second investigation of the crime scene found a glass of water in Monroe’s room which had not been there in the first investigation. Jack Clemmons was the first police officer to arrive and claimed he had never seen a more perfectly staged crime scene in his entire career.
A widely believed theory is that the Kennedy brothers staged her suicide. Allegedly, the president wanted to kill Monroe because they were having an affair and he didn’t want it to come out. The day before her death, it was said that she had an argument with JFK and said she was going to go to the press to reveal the affair. Apparently, she wanted to get back at him for refusing to marry her.
These speculations don’t even begin to scratch the surface of all the strange details and theories that have plagued this star’s legacy since she died. A beloved actress and model’s death has been shrouded in mystery and nobody will truly know what happened to this vibrant starlet.
