After nine years off air, Gilmore Girls is coming back! Netflix will be releasing four 90 minute segments of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life on Nov. 25. Since they are longer than normal episodes, Netflix is choosing to call them “movies.”
Not only has the original creator/exec producer Amy Sherman-Palladino come back, but so have 39 original characters, from Rory and Lorelai and ex-boyfriends to old friends and a dog. Some of the major returns are Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop), Sookie St. James (Melissa McCarthy), Luke Danes (Scott Patterson), Lane Kim (Keiko Agena)|, Paris Geller (Liza Weil), Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry), Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia), Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki) and Christopher Hayden (David Sutcliffe).
There are also a few more things we know about the returning series. Edward Herrmann’s (Richard Gilmore) death will be recognized in the first installment. This is sure to respectfully honor the actor while adding added depth to the series.
We also know that there will be plenty of Rory’s older loves in all episodes. They all three come back, and the fans are excited to see if she ends up with one of them or not! We also know we will be getting our fast-talking, coffee-filled girls back soon. Now all we have to do is wait! November 25 cannot come soon enough!
